Born in the heartland, and inspired by artists like Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega and PJ Harvey, she taught herself guitar with Beatles books and developed a captivating voice. Her path has led her beyond traditional bounds, infusing her music with a universal spirituality that speaks to the soul. Drawing from influences such as Patty Griffin, Jenny Lewis and Gillian Welch, Deva creates heartfelt Americana/indie-folk-rock with a 60s twist. Deva's songs reflect her spiritual and musical evolution, resonating deeply with listeners as she performs solo or leads the Deva Yoder Band.

As she grew older, Deva's musical horizons expanded, leading her to discover the soul-stirring sounds of artists like Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega, PJ Harvey, and Cinder Block of the punk band, Tilt. Their music resonated deeply with her, inspiring her to delve deeper into her own musical expression.

Drawing from these influences, Deva began to craft her own unique sound, blending elements of Americana, indie-folk-rock, and 60s psychedelia into a captivating musical tapestry. Her songs, filled with raw emotion and poetic lyricism, reflect her spiritual journey and personal growth, touching the hearts of listeners around the world.
